How to Make the Most of Exploring Kansas City, MO

Kansas City, Missouri SkylineThe Midwest is full of towns and communities with richly different dynamics. But one of the Midwest’s most distinct cities is Kansas City, Missouri. A city with a pivotal role in the nation’s history, Kansas City is blossoming in present day. It is a city with a strong core community and flourishing local economy. To get you excited to find your very own Kansas City apartment, let’s take a look at some of our favorite KC shops, stops, and eats.

Shops

When it comes to shopping, Kansas City has a hotbed of local designers, chefs, and creatives with storefronts. With places like Vinyl Renaissance, the local record store, and contemporary boutiques like Frankly Basic, Kansas City has a variety of shops to delight both local residents and tourists alike.

Stops

One of our favorite places to stop and take in the sights is The Raphael, one of the boutique hotels in town. The hotel’s building dates back to the 1920s and has a beautiful art-deco foyer that’s great to tour. Additionally, their restaurant, Chaz on the Plaza, has a menu that features tastes from the heartland. If upscale is less your style, we recommend the notable Boulevard Brewing Company. The local brewery has gained national fame for its tasty brews and they offer daily tours of their facility. It’s a Kansas City experience that’s too good to pass up.

Eats

Kansas City has a singular staple: barbeque. A little sweet, a little smoky, Kansas City barbeque is not to be missed. Most notably, we recommend checking out Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que. However, there’s more to Kansas City than sausages, briskets, and ribs. In fact, the restaurant Westside Local uses fresh produce from their backyard garden and turns to local vendors to help make their menu. The best part? Their fries are out of this world!
