The Historic District of Old Louisville
Old Louisville is comprised of 13 distinct boroughs that make up the largest connected Victorian neighborhood in North America. While much of this neighborhood consists of museums and historically preserved homes, Louisville residents are invited to participate in the neighborhood events like the Hidden Treasures Garden Tour and fall art shows. If you’re just passing through the city or are a new resident looking to explore, Old Louisville is a must-see.

Churchill Downs, Home of the Kentucky Derby
Louisville is synonymous with horse racing and has been the host city of the Kentucky Derby since 1875. Churchill Downs in south Louisville is the site of the famed Kentucky Derby horse race that takes place annually. Churchill Downs not only has beautiful grounds for visitors to explore but also has an on-site equine museum and thoroughbred stables.

Cherokee Park
Cherokee Park spans over 400 acres in Central Louisville, with park entrances that touch the Cherokee Triangle, Bonnycastle, Highlands-Douglass, Crescent Hill and Seneca Gardens neighborhoods. Developed in the 19th century, Cherokee Park was designed around Beargrass Creek, which runs through much of the park, and has a variety of open spaces designed for public use. It’s a great place for families and tourists alike to take in some of the city’s beautiful landscape.

The Good Ol’ Urban Bourbon
There’s only one thing in Louisville with a heritage older than horse racing, and that’s whiskey. Even if drinking is not your pastime, whiskey has made its mark on the region and several distilleries, including Evan Williams, are open to public for historical tours. For those who do enjoy a fine bourbon, the Urban Bourbon tour gives visitors the chance to take in some of the pubs, distilleries, and bars that helped whiskey make its claim to fame.
