Music festival season isn’t over just yet! While summer has the likes of Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, the fall season actually brings a number of amazing festivals across the country. Regardless of what your favorite music genre is, there’s a music festival for you. Here are a few of our favorite fall music festival recommendations:
Austin City Limits
October 3-5 & 10-12 Austin, TX
What started as a television show in the 1970s, ACL began hosting a festival in the heart of Austin in 2002. Now, ACL is one of the largest and best-known music festivals in Austin, Texas. Every October, 75,000 people flock to Zilker Park to see musical groups from all genres such as country, folk, rock, hip-hop, and indie. This year’s lineup includes Eminem, Pearl Jam, Lorde, Beck, and Skrillex.
Bayfest
October 3-5 Mobile, AL
Though Alabama may not be the most obvious place for a music festival, Mobile sits on the beautiful Gulf coastline with perfect weather during October. As Alabama’s largest music festival, Bayfest began in 1995 and now brings in over 200,000 music lovers over the 3-day festival. Artists like Ludacris, Stone Temple Pilots, CeeLo Green, and Earth, Wind & Fire will perform this year.
CMJ Music Marathon
October 21-25 New York, NY
CMJ Holdings, a music events and online media company, hosts a week long festival in New York City where hundreds of artists perform at clubs around Manhattan and Brooklyn. A rival to Austin’s buzzy South by Southwest festival, the CMJ Music Marathon showcases up-and-coming artists from every genre of music, exclusive parties, and over 100 conference events.
Voodoo Experience
October 31-November 2 New Orleans, LA
The commencement of Voodoo Experience usually signals the end of music festival season, and Voodoo ends it with a bang. Known for the willingness to host a large range of musical acts, Voodoo Experience blends high-profile musicians, up-and-coming artists, and local Louisiana musicians. Headliners of the 2014 festival include Foo Fighters, Outkast, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and Arctic Monkeys.
