Stack of moving boxes and blonde woman with head in hands, stressedSometimes life is funny. One minute you’re gliding through your daily routine and then all of a sudden…Wham! You are hit with something new and/or unexpected. Ferris Bueller said it best when observing, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

That’s what happens for many people seeking a new apartment. There is more to it than simply walking into the first community you see and signing a lease. In fact, for many, the first step is looking around and asking about the things that go inside the apartment. And, if you fall within any of these groups, maybe the first thing you should ask the leasing professional in front of you is, “Does this apartment come furnished?”

Four young college kids enjoying two boxes of pizza on the floor of an empty apartmentProcrastinators don’t get enough credit. Sure, you may wait until the last minute to do a task that you’ve known about for, oh, six months…but sometimes, that’s a good thing! Heck, as summer winds down, we bet you’re just now getting on top of that last-minute “summer party” that you decided to throw three months ago. But it’ll be the party of the century, right? And that’s all that matters. Kind of like everything else you do – when you get it done, it’s awesome.

Who needs months, or even weeks to plan your decor and unpack, let alone pick out the furniture? If you’re the procrastinator of the year, we salute you. We’ve also got some great ideas for furnishing your place last-minute; right after you eat pizza…while sitting on the floor of your empty apartment. Gotta keep with tradition after all!

Yes friends, graduation time is (finally) upon us. And we all know what that means, don’t we? TIME TO FIND A JOB! Just kidding. Kind of. Before that, your grad will be walkin’ that stage with the biggest grin you’ve ever seen, and though your “love and support” mean the world to them, we’re sure it wouldn’t hurt to get them a little extra somethin’ somethin’. Here are a few ideas for grad gifts that they definitely need (and/or want).

Two Women Moving Into New Home And Unpacking BoxesFinally it is here. Finals week is finished. You have packed up your dorm, and have left the campus for a wonderful holiday break. After a long stressful fall semester, nothing could be more welcome. But, while you are away, visions of a better campus life will be running through your head like sugar plums on Christmas Eve. It may have been that living in the residence hall was too noisy. Maybe one of your dorm roommates were a complete nightmare. Maybe living on campus just didn’t meet your expectations. But that is okay. If you act quickly, the New Year can bring a new start for your college experience.

There are plenty of advantages to living off-campus. One of the most notable is the fact that you now have more control over your environment. In the past, student housing was often dreaded by college students. The thought of being banished to a cinderblock bunker with lots of noise, distractions, and a lack of amenities sent cringes down the spine of students and parents alike. But today’s off-campus housing could not be any further away from that depiction. Today’s student communities are high-tech and luxurious, offering an environment more conducive to study and starting the first stages of adult life.
