Girl in blue slippers cleaning apartment bathroom floor with yellow mopSpring is here, which means warmer weather, sunnier evenings, and fresh, colorful flowers. It also means spring-cleaning your apartment from top to bottom! This means cleaning everything, including your bathroom. From the sink to the tub, cleaning your apartment’s bathroom can be a boring (and unpleasant!) task. Thankfully, we’ve got some tips and tricks to help you tackle the task in 15 minutes or less. Spring-cleaning can be a breeze with ApartmentSearch by your side.

How to clean a bathroom—fast!

1. Clear off all of the surfaces in your bathroom.

Before you get down to business, remove all the clutter. Grab your toothbrush, soaps, makeup, and all the bottles from your counters and around your shower. Put those to the side so you can clean the surfaces they were sitting on. As you do this, throw out anything that’s empty or not being used.

2. Spray down surfaces with a bathroom (or all-purpose) cleaner.

Once you’ve de-cluttered, spray your counters, tub, and shower walls with a disinfecting cleaner. Instead of wiping it down immediately, let it sit while you move on to another task. This will help break down any grime or really pesky stains from makeup, toothpaste, and other products. Open a window or leave your bathroom door wide open – the smell can be intense!

3. Do a quick wipe down of the floor.

Don’t worry, you don’t need to polish your bathroom floor with a toothbrush to make a noticeable difference. If you have a mop, you can certainly pull it out. Otherwise, use a couple of damp paper towels to wipe down the floor. Focus on places where dust and grime gather, like the rim of the tub and around the base of the toilet and sink. Use a dry paper towel to remove dust from baseboards.

4. Clean off the mirror.

Spray some glass cleaner on the mirror and wipe it down with a paper towel. People often don’t notice when their mirrors get dirty, but it makes a huge difference once they’re sparkling again!

5. Wipe off surfaces. Return products and accessories to their place.

Now it’s time to wipe down the counter and tub that you’ve already sprayed. Use some dry paper towels or an old rag to rub off all the spray cleaner (not your roommate’s washcloth). After that’s done, put your items back. Take a bit of time to organize them so that your counter and shower look neat and tidy.

6. Clean the toilet.

This is possibly the most dreaded task of bathroom cleaning, but don’t overthink it. Drop a little bit of toilet bowl cleaner into it and swirl the toilet brush around. Flush the toilet and voila – the worst is over!
